In my opinion, this is the perfect axe. The weight balance is well tuned, and the handle fits very nicely in my hands which are average sized. The woven wrap on this handle is very tight. If you have large hands, go with Afhzam's model: Viking Axe-64. It has a similar design with a thicker handle.
I truly admire the raised, artistic design on the face of the axe head. It really stands out despite not being contracted with coloring. The head is well secured to the handle with a masterfully done wedge through the eye at the top. The overall weight is heavy enough to be functional but not tiring to carry around. The leather mask that they custom fit for it has a belt loop to make it even easier to safely carry along with you if needed.
The bonus knife is really cool--I love the raven's head pommel. It's very sharp, has a tightly wrapped handle and like the axe, has a sheath with a belt loop to make it easier to carry around or free up your hand when needed. Both the knife and the axe arrived here well oiled for protection during shipping. I think this is a great gift set for one person, or you could split the axe and knife into two separate gifts.
